Lead enterprise Data and AI initiatives from initiation to production

As a Data Project Manager at Ideas2IT, you'll bridge business objectives, clients and engineering teams to successfully deliver enterprise-scale Data and AI initiatives.

You'll work with Data Architects, Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Product Managers and business stakeholders, owning delivery from project initiation through production with a focus on quality, predictability, stakeholder satisfaction and business impact.

What you'll actually do as a Data Project Manager with us

• Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise Data Engineering and Cloud Data Platform projects
• Manage cross-functional teams of Data Engineers, Data Architects, Cloud Engineers, QA and Product teams
• Work with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into executable delivery plans
• Drive Agile project execution while ensuring scope, quality, timelines and budgets are met
• Work alongside Data Architects to deliver scalable, cloud-native data platforms on AWS, Azure or GCP
• Track project risks, dependencies, resource allocation and stakeholder expectations
• Ensure successful delivery of Data Warehousing, Lakehouse, ETL/ELT, Streaming and Analytics solutions
• Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, release planning, retrospectives and executive status reporting
• Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and transparent project governance
• Mentor teams, promote Agile best practices and continuously improve delivery processes
• Collaborate with leadership during solutioning, estimations, RFPs and pre-sales activities

Must-haves

• 10+ years of overall IT experience, with 3+ years managing software delivery projects
• Experience delivering Data Engineering, Data Platform, Analytics, Cloud or AI/ML projects
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including Data Warehousing, Data Lakes and Lakehouse concepts
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Good understanding of Data Engineering technologies including Spark, PySpark, Kafka, Airflow, Data Factory, Glue, Snowflake, Redshift or Databricks
• Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban or SAFe
• Excellent stakeholder management and client communication skills
• Ability to work closely with technical teams while driving business outcomes
• Experience in project planning, estimation, budgeting, resource management and risk mitigation
• Strong problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills
• Experience mentoring delivery teams and managing distributed engineering teams

Nice-to-haves

• Exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI or Data Science projects
• Understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Security practices
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices for Data Platforms
• PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, SAFe or Agile certifications
• Product Management exposure
